PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Unique Alternatives Inc. One on One Life Skills Program is an educational & empowerment program that provides life skills to males and females from age 14 to young adulthood. The primary aim of this service is to promote appropriate levels of self-sufficiency and productive daily living skills.
This is an ideal program for individual(s) who are transitioning from and/or maybe involved in the Juvenile Justice System, Juvenile Correctional Facilities, Halfway Homes, Department of Social Services, Mental health System, Group Homes, Foster Care Homes, as well as individuals residing in traditional and non-traditional family dwelling settings.
Our Program is designed to enable individuals to initiate the process of being productive citizens within their own localities, and building accountability for their individualized life-long goals, dreams and endeavors. It also ensures a viable support system to individuals within the criminal justice and foster care system who are without the traditional parental role models and “one on one” service to assist them with life’s transition from adolescent to adulthood.
TREATMENT APPROACH: Unique Alternatives Inc. One on One Life Skills Program uses the strength based perspective. The strengths base perspective is an approach to the process of practice rather than a theory. The primary goal of this practice concept is minimizing the weaknesses and maximizing the strengths of the individual as they move through various stages of human development.
ASSESSMENT: Unique Alternatives Inc. One on One Life Skills Program uses varies tools to assess and re-assess individuals in their environment such as eco-maps, Daniel Independent Living Assessment and Life Skills Career Assessment tools. The assessment tools implemented, enables the Life Skills Counselor to focus on the individual primary need(s) to help create an ongoing Life Skill Plan that meets his/her needs.
PROGRAM TREATMENT PHASE: Unique Alternatives Inc. Life Skills One on One Program works with individuals for 120 days and up to one year per treatment needs. The Life Skills Counselor works extensively with the identified individual. The Life Skills Counselor work one on one up to 20 hours per month with the individual in the home and community setting to address treatment needs.

. This is a great program for youth and adults in need of one on one support. .Now accepting referrals. Unique Alternatives Inc. does not accept insurance but offers payment options and financial assistance due to donations and grants from Walmart and Walt Disney Foundation.
Current Life Skills One on One sessions are provided via zoom. Other phone devices can be used as well.
